Polder route

A beautiful route through The Green Hart of Holland. The first kilometers are on the towpath along the Oude Rijn, which is reminiscent of the barge sails. The rest is dominated by the open cultural landscape around the picturesque village of Kockengen. Many of the meadows are bird sanctuaries. If you want to shorten the walk to 12 km, you can take bus 102 or 103 from Connexxion to Putkop from Woerden (departure from the center side of the station) and start the walk there. The buses run 1x per hour. You can also finish the walk after 12 km at the Verlengde Kerkweg bus stop in Kockengen. Line 124 of Connexxion stops here, direction Breukelen or Woerden station. This bus runs 1x per hour.
